How can therapy help?
Psychotherapy offers a wide range of benefits for mental and emotional well-being. It provides a safe, supportive space to explore and understand your experience, identify your thoughts and feelings, and help you gain clarity and insight into your challenges. Therapy can reduce symptoms of trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress, while also improving emotional regulation and self-esteem. Through therapy, you may learn valuable coping skills to navigate life’s ups and downs, improve upon communication in relationships, and heal from past trauma. Overall, psychotherapy supports personal growth, fosters resilience, and empowers you to live a more balanced, fulfilling life.
Therapy can be practiced through a variety of different “types” or modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and more…
Meet your therapist…
Hi everyone! My name is Jessica (my dog’s name is Harper, if you were wondering). I am a Registered Psychotherapist located in Belleville, Ontario providing individual therapy sessions to teens and adults. I have a Bachelors in Psychology and Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology, and have been working in the mental health field for a decade now.
Building therapeutic relationships and supporting my clients to gain insights and make change is truly what fuels me. Within the therapy space, I provide client-centred, trauma-informed, and compassionate therapy, while practicing in a few different modalities to ensure the best fit for each individual client. It is my goal to be a participant in your journey towards self-exploration and personal growth, while providing a safe space for you to feel heard. I value meeting clients where they are at, and creating a strong, trusting bond within which we can make positive change happen - as a therapist, I will bring my most genuine self to you.
Outside of therapy, I am a lover of animals, I am passionate about being outdoors and getting active, and hold strong value on my relationships. Laughter truly is the best medicine, and I practice this wholeheartedly - it is rare that I am not laughing or (trying to) make jokes. I have a very sweet golden retriever, Harper (pictured below), who takes a lot of my time and gets me moving. Walking and fitness are staples in my day to day life.
